Free multi-media workshops and showcase events for teenagers at the BBC Blast annual 4-day Learning Festival. Participants can use the latest technology, share ideas and creative skills and learn from media-industry professionals in the mobile creative village, complete with digital workshop spaces and separate performance area.
There's a wide range of multi media and creative arts workshops on offer, highlights include:
- Record Production with Alan Wrench, who has had Top-10 success in the Dance Charts.
- Advice on working in radio from Radio Manchester's broadcast journalists.
- Fashion Design with Nicky, who has designed for Topshop and Karen Millen.
- SLAMbassadors - Learn some performance poetry techniques and enter our nationwide competition.
- Work with Manchester based graffiti artist Dreph a to make a stencil based design.
- Dance: Choreography, Capoeira, street dance and cheerleading.
- Multi-Media: Filmmaking, special FX, 3D Games, animation, photography, VJing.
A selection of work created here will be shown to the public at the Blast Talent Showcases: DJs and MCs on Wednesday at 5.30pm, poetry and spoken word on Thursday at 5pm, musicians, dancers and performers on Friday at 6pm and digital/VJ work on Saturday at 5.30pm.
