October 2009 will see the start of The Manchester Museum’s festival of exhibitions and events for Darwin.
"Charles Darwin: the evolution of a scientist" will be a major temporary exhibition exploring Darwin and Darwinism. The exhibition will help visitors to get a sense of who Darwin was and what he did; provide a whodunit of evidence for evolution and natural selection; look at the theme of controversy including social and post-Darwinism; explore effects of Darwin today and personal and faith views on Darwin, his work and its impact.
"Charles Darwin for younger visitors" (exact name to be confirmed) will be a new permanent Museum exhibition about Darwin and evolution using objects and hands-on interactives in an environment designed for fun, family learning and exploration.
