Showcase on the use of Internet TV as an Informal Adult Learning experience. This event shows an introduction to the use of online video and social networking sites to create an outlet for informal adult learning.
The success of YouTube, facebook and other social media tools has created a huge outlet for creative and community expression. However not all adults are self-motivated to create content for this audiences.
One of the roles of People's Voice Media is to help adult learners work in facilitated peer learning groups. What this means in practice is to have a clear goal for the project and to help from groups of community reporters who want to work together on subjects that they are interested in with different levels or areas of experience. Some may have camera skills, some local knowledge, some may have great people or organisational skills.
Our role is to help the group achieve their aims by giving them access to the training and the equipment and other support they need. Find out how this works in practice by coming to our showcase on Internet TV.
The event will include
- Hands on experience in-front and behind the cameras
- Screenings of Examples of Internet TV content
- Reflection on the process of using Social Media for community development.
