Jenny Uglow is an historian, editor and author of several critically acclaimed books, including Words & Pictures: Writers, Artists and a Peculiarly British Tradition, which explores the illustrations of Milton’s Paradise Lost and Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress amongst others. Her previous books include the biographies Elizabeth Gaskell: A Habit of Stories, Hogarth: A Life and a World and The Lunar Men: The Friends who Made the Future.
